Puget Sound Coastal Processes and Shoreline Stabilization Measures
In this practical two-day class, you will gain a working knowledge of the physical processes that shape marine shorelines and learn how these shorelines can be impacted by development. The first day of the training will cover basic coastal information, natural shoreline processes, bluff processes, and issues of human modifications. The second day will focus on applications, including approaches to site evaluation, avoiding natural hazards, shoreline stabilization, and alternative methods of erosion control. Emphasis will be on issues directly relevant to the needs of shoreline planners. Outdoor clothing is required for the afternoon field trips.
Lunch is provided.
