Dr. Kathy Taylor is a senior marine ecologist with the Shorelands and Environmental Assistance Program at the Washington State Department of Ecology. She provides scientific and technical assistance on marine and estuarine issues related to shoreline planning, policy, and management. She is also an affiliate faculty member of the University of Washington-Tacoma. Dr. Taylor has over 20 years experience working in marine and estuarine ecosystems. Prior to taking her current position, she worked for the Puget Sound Action Team, served as Executive Director of the Columbia River Estuary Study Taskforce, and held a tenure-track faculty position in the Biology Department of Coastal Carolina University. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Western Washington University and her Doctorate from Louisiana State University.
